These terms govern your use of Easy Car · Dashcam and its related services and website, provided by onTheRoad. Read them before use. By using the service, you agree to these terms; if you do not agree, stop using it. Privacy processing is explained in the Privacy Policy.
1. The service and eligibility
Easy Car turns a phone into a dashcam with event clips, continuous recording, optional audio, snapshots, driving information, on-device risk assistance, playback, sharing, export and storage management. Features depend on the platform, hardware, OS version, permissions and settings. Recording, saving, playback and export are free. Advertising may appear when enabled in the current version.
You must meet local legal requirements for using the service; minors should use it with a guardian's guidance. A person driving must hold the required driving qualification and follow traffic laws.
2. Safe driving and limitations
Install, configure and operate the phone only when safely parked. Use a secure mount and keep the device clear of your view and vehicle safety equipment. Monitor heat, power and storage during extended recording. Follow applicable camera, audio-recording, privacy, road and public-space laws.
This is a recording and assisted-saving tool, not an autonomous-driving, emergency-response, collision-prevention or safety-guarantee system. Detection may miss or misclassify events. Location and speed may be inaccurate. Do not substitute these features for your judgment, attention or professional equipment.
3. Recording, saving and platform differences
- Event mode: the default mode keeps recent compressed footage in a rolling memory buffer and saves relevant clips after a manual save or qualifying automatic-protection event. It does not automatically save the entire journey. Look-back time depends on memory, quality and audio settings; check the app's displayed value.
- Continuous recording: select it in Settings to organize ordinary clips into 1, 3, 5 or 10-minute segments; a final segment can be shorter. Storage, battery, heat, permissions and system interruptions can still affect recording.
- iPhone: keep the app in the foreground. Backgrounding, screen lock or a camera interruption stops capture. Completed media is retained; unfinished event windows may be incomplete.
- Android: after starting in the app, use the recording notification to save or stop. Background recording is subject to OS and device restrictions. Location pauses in the background, on lock or when leaving the dashcam screen, limiting location-dependent features.
- Saving limits: app failure, process termination, camera interruption or insufficient resources can cause unsaved buffers or unfinished files to be lost. We do not guarantee detection, saving or recovery of every event.
4. Your media, backups and storage
You retain the rights you lawfully hold in your recordings, photos and other content. Ensure that capture, audio recording, storage, export and distribution are authorized and lawful. Do not infringe others' privacy, image or intellectual-property rights, fabricate or falsify content, or distribute it unlawfully. Providing local recording does not transfer ownership of your driving media to us.
Export and back up important media promptly. Loop overwrite may automatically delete older unprotected ordinary clips. Manage storage when protected clips and photos fill the allowance. Deletion, uninstalling, device damage or clearing data may make local content unrecoverable. Manage exported/shared copies separately.
Competent authorities determine whether a recording is admissible evidence and its evidentiary value. The service does not guarantee acceptance.
5. Device accounts and acceptable use
The app may establish an account using a random device identifier; initial setup requires a network connection. Protect device access and credentials. Device replacement, identifier loss or changes in secure storage may affect account association. The server-side account does not provide cloud backup of driving media.
Do not use the service for unlawful surveillance, privacy infringement, fraud, harmful content, service disruption, bypassing security or abusive traffic. To the extent allowed by law, do not copy, distribute or circumvent protected service components without authorization.
6. Privacy, advertising and third parties
The Privacy Policy explains processing of local media, location, device accounts, recording summaries, feedback, advertising and website-access data. System permissions and legally required consent are obtained separately. Accepting these terms does not replace permission required for camera, microphone, location or advertising processing.
Advertising, system geocoding, system sharing and selected external apps are operated by their providers under their policies and availability conditions. Advertising does not affect your statutory rights. If paid features are introduced, their prices and terms will be explained separately before purchase.
7. Changes, availability and ending use
We may update or adjust features for security, improvements or legal compliance. Networks, operating systems, devices and third-party services can interrupt availability. Material changes affecting rights will be notified, with renewed consent where required by law.
You may stop using the service, revoke permissions or uninstall at any time, and request deletion of your server account and associated data under the Privacy Policy. Serious unlawful use, abuse or security risks may result in reasonable restrictions on online services, subject to applicable law and appropriate contact or appeal channels.
8. Responsibility and statutory rights
To the extent allowed by applicable law, the service is provided with its current features and availability, without a promise of uninterrupted operation, coverage of every event or permanent retention. Responsibility for loss is determined by applicable law and the parties' fault. Assess whether a phone meets your particular recording needs.
These terms do not exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable liability for personal injury, intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or mandatory consumer rights. Any limitation applies only to the extent permitted by law.
9. Updates, disputes and contact
Updated terms will show their effective date here. Changes requiring separate notice or fresh consent will be handled accordingly. Disputes are subject to applicable law and mandatory consumer protections; these terms do not remove statutory remedies. We welcome contact to try to resolve issues first.
